Here we go. Sunday morning.
A fifteen-minute stop at Caffetteria SoHo on Sullivan Street for a morning Latte and Palmier. The palmier is from Ceci-Cela a short walk east. A big giant baby, with all that buttery goodness and flaky layers. However as you reach the middle, the formerly flaky layers turn all soft and chewy. And that is why I prefer mini-palmiers the best - always crisp, all the way through. The ones from Saint Germain in Hawai'i are my favourite in the US. But we haven't even touched upon France yet... ;)
A Few Reads and Notes:
- That newspaper article in the back? "The Price 20-Somethings Pay to Live in the City." You can read it here, off the Sunday NYT.
- Is OpenTable worthwhile for restaurant owners? - a letter from Incanto in San Francisco.
- Can't wait to visit Tanaka Saimin next time I'm back in Hawai'i...will surely order both the Fried Saimin and a big bowl of Won Ton Mein.
Cheers to a good week!
