San Francisco XI: The Slanted Door

Just a few shots from an early supper at The Slanted Door. Monsieur P and I ate a lunch at A16 not long before and we were just craving a little something savoury. There was a two-hour wait for tables (goodness, can you believe that??) so we opted for seats at the bar where we shared...

...pots of Mint Leaf Tea (made with Spearmint), along with...

...Cellophane Noodles and Fresh Dungeness Crab Meat...

...Caramelized Tiger Prawns with Garlic, Onions and Chili Sauce...

...and for dessert the "Banana Tapioca." The dessert was essentially a parfait of crushed crisp lime meringues, avocado ice cream, and kabocha-studded banana taipoca.

We found the place to be rather pricey for the food, which was solid though far from outstanding. Both the "mains" we shared were dishes that one could easily replicate at home...and I just might do that ;)
