Saturday Dinner: Momofuku Noodle Bar

Pork Buns

Monsieur P took me out for dinner this past weekend. Post afternoon coffee, we wandered into my favourite hat shop in the the East Village (spring hats are in! still waiting for the summer straw numbers and berets made from lighter materials). And then into Momofuku Noodle Bar for an early dinner.
Tamale Trio: Jalapeno Queso, Pork Kimchee, and Chicken Mole

It's been half a year since my last visit here. Time flies by quick. And there are too many restaurants in this city and simply not enough time. Not that I'm complaining or anything, oh no. We shared the dinner prix fixe ($45 for four courses with an amuse and petit fours, a very solid deal), and tacked on an order of pork buns and a trio of tamales. Photos below...apologies for the not-so-wonderful photos, I only had my point and shoot with me :)
Beets, Walnuts
Oyster, Caviar, Grapefruit
Hake, Ramps, Oyster Mushrooms
Duck Breast, Miso, Orange
Olive Oil and Pickled Cherry Soft-Serve, Crushed Saltines
Chocolate Chip Cake Balls. Yes, cake balls. Balls of cake.

And now? Tucking into bed for the evening. Had Dos Toros with Bhaveneet tonight, then stopped at the wine shop for a bottle of prosecco. Two glasses, and plenty of work done for the evening. Well look at the time, Tuesday, 1am. Maialino for lunch tomorrow afternoon!
