Spinach Gnocchi with Gorgonzola Sauce
Sorry for the less than stellar photos. On weekends I like to carry my point and shoot instead of the dslr. I can roam the city with a small bag and less weight on my shoulders. The downside? Photo results suffer. But often times the trade-off is worth it.
Last Sunday, Monsieur P and I had brunch at Malatesta Trattoria. It was my first visit to Malatesta, though my WV residing friends have mentioned it to me more than a few times. Sunday was one of those unusually warm April days. Tank tops and sunglasees, slip-on flats.
We both planned to order omelets, but then saw six orders of spinach gnocchi land at a table for six. Well! The gnocchi must be decent at the very least. And that it was. My favourite gnocchi is still at Hearth ;) So we split the gnocchi and a prosciutto and mozzarella omelet. The best part of the gnocchi dish was the gorgonzola sauce. Creamy, oh yes. We soaked it up with the fried potatoes, and the gnocchi. And when we ran out of those, we eagerly made good on the side of baguette slices.

Today? Morning iced coffees at Joe's, lunch at Le Pain Quotidien...their quiche lorraine drives me ohlalala. Then there was a stop at L'arte del Gelato, the happiest place on earth. Afternoon drinks at the bar at Gramercy Tavern, a glass of rosé for me, and a Sole Storm for him. Spring allergies were getting the best of both of us, and when I could not stop sneezing while at Gramercy Tavern, I looked up and quickly discovered the culprit: the fresh flower arrangement right above our heads. Sigh, but those flowers are so beautiful.
Picked up a salmon and tempura bento at Sunrise for dinner. Eating and working at the same time. The weekend always ends too quickly, but when life is this swell, who's complaining? :)
