San Francisco V: El Farolito and Bi-Rite Creamery (Again ;)

We cannot seem to stay away from Bi-Rite Creamery for more than 24 hours at a time! On Tuesday evening, dinner with Kelly, Chrissy and Pei at El Farolito and then a return to Bi-Rite. Meet the Coconut Sundae ($6.50). Toasted Coconut Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Marcona Almonds, Toasted Coconut and Whipped Cream. I'll have to replicate this at home once I find a good supplier of toasted coconut ice cream back in NYC...

We also had another sundae. You've seen this one before. It's definitely the group favourite, hands down. The Afternoon Snack Sundae. Roasted Banana ice cream (the "roasted" element to the ice cream is strong in all the right ways), housemade graham crackers, caramel sauce and whipped cream.

There's a line out this place every night. Very, very understandable.

Before we devoured all these sundaes, we had quite the gigantic (and extremely cheap - every item was less than $6) meal at El Farolito. Salsa options pictured above.

For myself: Nachos. Corn chips with beans, melted cheese, fresh salsa, avocado (about half an avocado), sour cream and jalapeƱos. Fork and knife was the only way to go. I conquered about 80% of this dish before I started to feel nauseous...plus had to keep room for the Bi-Rite sundaes!!

Kelly and Chrissy split a trio of tacos...

...and the Super Burrito...

...Innards! I feel full just looking at these photos :)
