NYC: Corton

A duo of apple financiers for the morning after!

Last week Monsieur P and I celebrated his birthday with dinner at Corton. I was going to surprise him with dinner, but he ended up surprising me when he treated for the evening! A gentleman indeed. This was an extra special dinner because we both work in Tribeca and walk past this restaurant every day of the work week. Imagine how exciting it was to finally set foot in the dining room! We had an 8pm reservation and the evening went flawlessly, concluding with "Happy Birthday!" and a single candle with our “From the Orchard” dessert.

Below are our dishes from the evening. I wish we had photos from the meal, but the restaurant doesn't allow photography. But it was for the better - how lovely to enjoy dinner like a "normal" person hehehe. A three course prix fixe for $85, we completed it with cocktails and a bottle of wine. The evening also includes amuses, a palate cleanser (mango sorbet over crunchy black sesame brittle), and all the chocolates and macarons (the dark & stormy was my favourite) our hearts desired.

Appetizer (...we both wanted foie, and picked the same dish ;)
Moulard Duck Foie Gras
Green Apple | Vadouvan Spice, Hibiscus Gelée

Entree
Painted Hills Black Angus Beef
Sicilian Pistachio, Rhubarb, Pommes Maxim

Rabbit | Ruby Red Shrimp
Artichoke, Parmesan Spaghetti, Crushed Pimentón Jus

Dessert & Cheese
“From the Orchard”
Fruits and Textures of the Season

Selection of Artisanal Cheeses

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! :)
